One of Bill’s specialties is the design of passenger carrying vessels, designed to US Coast guard requirements and certified by the US Coast Guard.

The 36 foot Maui Diamond was planned to support scuba divers in Hawaiian waters.  Designed to CFR (Code of Federal Regulations) requirements for construction, safety and stability the Maui Diamond is presently operating out of Maui, Hawaii.

While at Crealock’s office he designed a series of innovative catamaran passenger carrying tour boats.  Also designed to US Coast Guard stringent requirements, they are now operating in Ensenada, San Diego and Hawaii.

Perhaps his best known passenger vessels are the “Twin Brigantines”, Irving and Exy Johnson, 90 foot brigantines operated by the Los Angles Maritime Institute.  Bill was tasked with their structural design, arrangements, systems and US Coast Guard approval for both passenger and school ship service.  The Brigantines can take up 75 “at risk” students for day sails and 36 for overnight cruises.  The brigantines have been extremely successful at helping these students change their attitudes and giving them a bright future.
